LOCATION:
At Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya. The distance from Nairobi is
approximately 295 Kms (5 hours) and about 45 minutes by air to
Musiara airstrip which is served by scheduled flights twice
daily from Nairobi and once per day from Nanyuki.
DESCRIPTION:
Governors' Il Moran Camp is hidden in the shadow of ancient
trees, along the banks of the Mara River. It is an exclusive
camp whose original size was reduced in order to preserve the
surroundings and make a contribution to reduce the impact of
tourists on the environment. The camp recreates the atmosphere
of the original hunting camps. Birds and butterflies abound,
elephants wander through the camp at night, leopards call
nearby.
NUMBER OF ROOMS:
10 double suite tents.
Room décor: Spacious, luxurious safari tents furnished to a
superior standard. The beds have been hand carved from specially
selected wood from fallen, ancient olive trees. The interior of
each tent also includes a Victorian style bath, flushing
lavatory and double sinks, and a large, extended veranda
designed for private dinner at the privacy of the room.

En-suite bath, shower, basin, flush toilet, running cold and hot
water.

FOOD & BEVERAGE FACILITIES:
Open bar and restaurant tent with view over the Mara River.
During the day meals served outdoors amongst trees and dinners
served on candlelight deep in the bush. Complimentary wine is
served with dinner. These are truly unforgettable experiences.
Bush breakfast & bush dinner can be organised on request at a
supplementary cost. Special diets are available on notice.

Cultural Tours - to a nearby Masai Manyatta (village) and
donation made directly to the local community
Lake Victoria - day excursion to Lake Victoria by charter
flight. Boat rides and fishing on Lake Victoria. Excursion with
overnight in Mfangano Island Camp highly recommended (all at an
extra cost).
CLIMATE:
Warm during the day and cool at night. Long rain season starts
at the end of March to the end of May, short rain season in
November.
